- CLEANING AND RESTORING OIL
PAINTINGS
-
- Fairly new paintings may need
simply refreshing: dust removed and new varnish applied.
-
- As oil paintings are not usually under glass it is beneficial for
them to have a coat of special oil painting varnish ,either matt or gloss, as protection from dust and dirt. With future
cleanings where only the dirty varnish is removed and the original paint is
clean underneath.
-
- Older paintings, yellowed by smoke or dirty through
age are usually
taken apart, the picture cleaned and varnished, frame and stretchers
(if any) also cleaned, and the whole lot reassembled.

-
- REPAIRING
-
- Damaged oil paintings - holes, cuts, dents,
flaking, fading. Splashes of emulsion paint removed.
-
LUMINIS can restore your painting to
its previous splendour.
-
- RETOUCHING

specialities.
